Access to the site is STRICTLY PROHIBITED, however there is a public right of way that runs parallel to the river Aire which provides an excellent vantage point to view the structure.
Warning signs are located at strategic points to advise river users of the dangers of the structure and its automated movement.

Visibility of the strucutre is superb from the bridge that sits directly above the piers that form part of Knostrop weir. The bridge can be accessed from several directions off Thwaite lane, along the Aire and Calder navigation or River Aire towpaths.
